I facilitated creating worry monsters with a willing group of school age participants

Each student used their imagination to create their landscape. I gave them the instructions on how to outline the landscape and the rest was in their complete control.

2018 - present
At an Open Door care facility I am a teacher during the before school program. I organize large group activities for children between the ages of 6 and 11-years-old. The activities I organize often appeal to their need for industry and peer interaction as they build relationships past their family.
April 2019
Camp Me Too is a weekend camp for bereaved children in the Baltimore area coordinated by Stella Maris. Throughout the weekend the children were given space to experience their grief through different group and individual activities. The various activities assisted their understanding of how to cope with the death of their loved one. The "Volcano Station" was one activity that I lead throughout the camp weekend. As children arrived to the station, I explained the importance of expressing anger and discussed the appropriate ways to do so.

As an assistant teacher I helped in facilitating therapeutic play through art. In every class session there is an educational component that the children are engaged to learn as they make art. Classes were made up of children of varying ages in class sizes between 15-40 children. The children were often in need of a therapeutic release and as art teachers we facilitate their emotional well-being throughout the class.
2017-2018
At Primrose School of Minnetonka I was a lead-teacher of a two and three-year-old classroom. I was one of two leaders in a classroom of 20 children in this age range. Enhancing and implementing curriculum based activities was a large role in providing care for the children. Family was a large focus and I learned how necessary it was for me to push myself to create a professional relationship with each individual involved in my students daily care. This experience gave me the confidence and experience to introduce myself to start and continue the rapport building with a family. Working with Primrose gave me experience with typically developing two and three-year-olds and adjusting to their needs as a group and individuals constantly throughout the day.

2013 - 2017
As an Academic Coach Supervisor I was in charge of managing a homework site for at-risk adolescent students. Managing the site meant that, in addition to engaging an individual or small group of students in their academics, I ensured that students were actively attending their extra curricular activities, and that attendees were able to keep their concentration on their academics. A large part of this organization is for the students to gain leadership skills and to donate their time to helping others. Through service work I was able to gain a stronger mentor relationship with each of the students. Through Legacy Children's Foundation I gained skills pertaining to leadership positions and experience with adolescents in stressful situations.
Sanford Child Development Center
2015-2017
As a teacher at Sanford Child Development Center I worked with a team to implement developmentally appropriate activities for 14- 30 preschool children. The activities that I planned and directed included large group gross motor play, small group cognitive and fine motor development activities. In order to keep the environment stimulating for children and families informed I changed the bulletin boards on a bi-weekly basis. Throughout the year the teachers would organize family engagement opportunities near holidays and special events. Sanford Child Development Center gave me experience with typically developing preschool aged children where I could apply my practice of child development consistently.
